About Convergent
Texas Convergent is a student org at UT Austin. You join a team, pick a problem, and spend the semester building a real product. Every team blends technology, business, and design, so you'll be working alongside people from different majors.
Build Teams are bigger and more guided. No experience needed. You come up with an idea and build it into an MVP over one semester.
Forge pods are smaller and partner with real startups or nonprofits. Some prior experience is expected.
Build Teams: about 3 hours a week. That's a 1.5-hour team meeting, a subteam check-in, and some independent work.
Forge: around 5 hours a week. Two meetings plus time toward your deliverables.
Plan for a bit more if you want something solid by Demo Day.
Info sessions, Demo Day, Forge Showcase, DataHacks, workshops, and socials. Check @txconvergent on Instagram or the Join page for the current schedule.

Applying
Everything goes through our member portal. Sign in with Google, fill out a short form with some written answers, a resume link, and your role and team preferences. Applications open the first week of the semester, and you'll hear back the following week.
Yes, applying to both doesn't hurt your chances at either. If you have a preference, mention it in the comments section.
Yes, one of each. The portal won't let you submit your application until both are on your record. They're also a good chance for us to get to know you beyond your application.
No, pick one: technology, product, or design. Go with the one you want to grow in the most. You'll work closely with the other two on your team either way.
