How to apply
Applications run through our member portal. Sign in with your Google account to check in at events, submit your application, and follow it through to a decision.
01Getting in
Sign up
Sign in with Google
Any Google account works. The portal does not issue a password of its own.
Fill in your profile
Name, major, college, graduation semester, and contact details. This takes about two minutes and pre-fills most of the application later.
Returning members
An account already exists for you. Enter your UT EID when prompted and your past semesters attach to it.
02How an application moves
Application Process
The portal shows the stage your application has reached at every point in the process. Three of the six steps below are handled by us and require nothing from you.
Read this part
You cannot submit until you have checked in at one info session and one coffee chat. The submit button stays locked until both appear on your record. Attend both early in the recruitment period, because we cannot add them to your record afterward.
Your move
Info session
Attend one and scan the QR code shown on the screen. Only the scan reaches the portal, so a paper sign-in sheet at the door will not record your attendance.

Coffee chat
Come talk to us! This is the one point in the process where we meet you before reading your application.

Submit your application
Both applications use one format, so the responses will be saved along the way. You can continue editing even after submission until the deadline.

First-round reading
Leads read every application once the window closes. The tracker shows only that the reading has finished. Scores and reader names stay internal.

Interview
If you move forward, we email you to arrange a time. Once the time is set, it appears on your tracker along with the room.

Decision
Accepted, waitlisted, or not this cycle. The result appears in the portal and your inbox at the same time.

03The application
Submission
One form with tabs covers everything. Answers save as you move between them, and you can submit early and keep editing until the deadline.
Required
Your UT EID, major, and graduation semester, along with your other commitments this term, a résumé link, and a short answer on why you want to join.
Build Teams
Rank the case areas (IoT, Health Tech, Digital Arts and Media, Social Impact) and list the languages, tools, and design programs you have used.
Forge
The same questions, for pods working inside startups and nonprofits. You may complete one section or both, and choosing a primary role in either is enough to submit.
04Questions
About the portal
Yes, one of each. The submit button stays locked until both check-ins are on your record, and no officer can override that at the deadline.
Both are worth attending regardless. A form carries limited information about you, and the coffee chat is where that gets corrected.
Yes. Answers save as you move between sections and whenever you save manually. Nothing counts as submitted until you press submit.
After submitting you can still edit your answers, or delete the application and start again, at any point before the deadline. The form locks once the deadline passes.
Any Google account works. If you have more than one, use the address you actually read, because decisions are emailed there.
If sign-in fails, or the portal does not recognize you, email us and an officer will correct it.
Yes. The application has a section for each program, and filling in both carries no penalty at either.
Roles work differently, because you may apply for only one. Choose technology, product, or design according to what you want to get better at.
No. The tracker reports which stage your application has reached and nothing about how it is being received. Reader names and scores stay internal.
The stages shown are submitted, read, interviewing, and decided.
If you cannot sign in, or something on your record looks wrong, email membership@txconvergent.org and an officer will correct it.
